Every once in a while, it's nice to spoil your pooch. They bring you so much love and laughter, so why not push the boat out and treat them like a prince or princess every so often?

There are many ways in which you can do this. First, be sure to put a significant amount of time aside to play with your canine companion. Buy them lots of chew toys (not the squeaky types, as they can get annoying) and be prepared to spend a good couple of hours tearing around with your pal.

Also, when they're feeling bouncy and full of energy, take the chance to take a big, long walk with your furry friend. They will enjoy this, particularly if you play around with them and teach them some new tricks. If you can find a big expanse of land, such as a nature park or a beach, then all the better.

Next, don't be afraid to indulge in some delicious doggy treats every now and then. Obviously these should be offered up as part of a healthy and well-balanced diet, but every now and then, there's nothing wrong with giving your pooch a pig's ear or a marrow bone for a treat.

Another treat to consider is doggy day care. Whilst you're at work all day, day care provides an excellent chance for Rover to make some new friends and spend time with kindred spirits. They'll be treated like royalty and might even sneak in some time for a nap, leaving them full of energy for fun time in the evening.

Lastly, be sure to give your pooch plenty of love and praise. When they do something right, make sure they know it, and give them lots of cuddles every single day. A dog's greatest accomplishment is to make their master happy, so make sure you sit together at night time and that he or she knows how much you love them.
